Courses / Trainings

  • Permaculture Design Certificate courses

The Basic Permaculture Design Certificate Course runs for seven days and tackles permaculture ethics, principles, and design methods in our permaculture site here in Nueva Ecija. The learning from the seven day course is enough to start working at your own place especially in a tropical setup like the Philippines. It teaches basic learning from nature that can be applied on our site to enhance its productivity and stability while not setting aside the yield that can be given by the system. The course not only includes discussions within the site but also showing permaculture initiatives in the community level by visiting the LRCs in elementary schools built with the help of Cabiokid.

    Saturdays to Fridays

    April 25, 2011 - May 1, 2011
    July 2, 2011 - July 8, 2011
    November 5, 2011 - November 11, 2011

Course fees are pegged at Philippine Pesos 9,000

Courses run from lunch on the first day to lunch on the last day. Payment fee includes accommodations and meals, training kit and materials, t-shirt and a permaculture book

Special courses on the following topics will also be held
    1. Bamboo technologies and architecture

Bamboo thrives well in the Philippines but its acceptance as a major construction material for different types of structures is not that widely recognized. In Cabiokid, together with permaculture designing, we bring back traditional construction of dwellings and other culturally significant structures to the landscape. We bring it back with a new twist, which is incorporating modern materials to enhance the lifespan as well as beauty of the building.

    2. Resource management
    3. Basic agriculture strategies

      - How will you enhance the productivity of your farm as well as enhancing and continuously replenishing your soil and also encouraging you to be less dependent to totally not dependent from outside inputs such as chemical fertilizers and pesticides?

    4. Natural foods and processing
